My 1949 Land Cruiser, Model No. 16-A-Y5 was
sold new by John Kadlec, Jr. of Kadlec Brothers Studebaker, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A 245 cu. in. displacement 6-cylinder engine rated at 100 horsepower powers it.
It is equipped with a three speed shift, overdrive and hill holder.
I purchased the car in May 1989. It had 29,000 miles
on it at the time. The mileage has reached 40,000 after trips to SDC National
Shows in Nashville, Tennessee and Dearborn, Michigan. Regional shows attended
include Smyrna, Georgia, Vero Beach, Florida, West Palm Beach, Florida, Ormond
Beach, Florida and Daytona Beach, Florida.
The
